Thank you for the helpful heater information gentlemen. I saw Kanter has NOS underseat heaters ($125) in their 48-54 Catalogue so appears I can get one that should fit my '51 OK.

I can't say with certainty but I think it's likely.

Believe this is the footwarmer they are speaking of -- or at least it is what was in my 47 along with the underseat heater. It's mostly a defroster with the blower directly feeding those two outlets. It has a small --about 1" wide-- door on the side of the blower which can be opened and scoop some of the airflow.

Thanks for this good information. Now I have a couple of choices for heating, including defrosting. A good outcome.

had a week off from work and me and the wife worked hard on cleaning up stuff and patching and filling and sweating!

finished the rocker....just need to scuff the paint up to match the rest of the patina.

ground it down...filled it with metal weld epoxy...then sanded that down flat and painted.

took heavy duty wire brush on my angle grinder to the whole floor getting up all the loose rubber material. the good thing about it it took out all the rot and revealed the extent of the damage.

the little holes i just filled with metal weld epoxy which will get covered in linseed and then herculiner...not gonna leak in a 100 years i bet.

the really bad holes i had to make some patchs for and weld in. i sprayed it all with rust converter first. the little curved fake body mount i took a piece of metal and banged the poo outa it till filled the curve and then welded it in. i'll metal epoxy fill it soon.

this is all under carpet or under car so idgas what it looks like....as long as it doesn't leak water.

instead of buying a floorpan from C2C for 60 bucks for the passenger's side i just went to lowes and bought some sheet metal and cut it to fit...don't care about the little indents and stuff...it'll function fine as is and its way more solid then what was there when i push on it.

still gotta fill up the little holes, and that curved part where the option heater would go. don't plan on having one of those anyways.

this will all get a good linseeding when i'm done and then some herculiner to finish it out. then carpet.

the trunk had some huge jagged man made hole in it...no idea what that is about....put i'll fix that.

the spare tire well was dented up and has some bad rot...plan on welding in a new bottome piece for that using the old to curve the new metal first.

i also took the old rocker and marked the holes for the trim....center punched them and drilled them out. perfectly good.

its getting there.

What gauge of sheet metal did you get? I priced it out at Farm and Fleet and it was super expensive for a small sheet of 18 gauge. I ended up using some sheet metal from an old machine at my work.

Lowes, which is 1 mile from my house, only carries 16g and 22g. go figure.

22g was what I ended up with. it seemed about as thick as what the floor is now and it is much easier to manipulate. this is the same gauge I used on the front of the rocker when I had to form that curve. worked fine.

when I push my weight on the patch on the floor it is much much stronger then the stuff that was there before and still stiffer then the driver's side.

plus the 16gauge broke my brand new air shears and I had to exchange it...shhh don't tell harbor freight I used 16g to cut with. lol. I thought I would give it a shot....but no...busted the middle sheer right off.

also I do not envy what you have to do on your car...you win for bravest...cause what I've done so far...sucked.

it ain't pretty...but i fixed the plate cover for the install of the accessory heater. i welded it all shut too.

then made a round piece to cover up the rotted fake looking body mount whatever you call it.

haven't welded that in yet.
