Home away from home
|
It was an ill-fated trip. The airport was affected by an union strike. After an enforced stay of 9 hours and a travel time of 15 hours with stopover in London, Boston was covered in deep snow. But after arrival, when tired trudging through the night we passed a kind of public telephone station, dimly lit admidst the driving and drifting snow and in it stood an old limousine chauffeur who hold a handwritten plate with my name ... home away from home! After two business days I became ill for three days and instead of meeting Tom we stayed at the hotel - well, you win some, you lose some. I have always been an optimist. Next time the sun will shine!

Sorry I asked Gerd. Not a pleasant experience at all but, as you infer, it has to be better the next time round! And, in spite of your troubles, I hope Ruthi gained something from the trip.
