Regarding Posts # 487, 489 and 493 of page 25 of this thread:
ok. Thanks to Guscha we have good measurements of the Russian Zis engine. How do those measurements compare with the closest American Packard engine???? I wish i had a Packard engine here to measure.

Here's the measurements on the 288/327/356/359 engines.
From across the head, from one side to the other, we're looking at 6&11/16". (169.8625mm) Manifold side, from one bolt to another, 2&3/4".(69.85mm) Center row of bolts, 4&1/8".(104.775mm) Distributor side of engine, 2&1/8".(53.975mm) I will get bore spacing soon, need new batteries for the camera. If there's any other measurements anyone needs, I can get them.

T'Packman measures: "Center row of bolts, 4&1/8".(104.775mm)".
My calculations from Guscha's picture of block w/ measurements is 4.28 inches between center row of studs on each side of #5 cylinder. Any chance of cross fittting heads between Packard and Zis would require about a 1/16 inch elongation of the stud holes in the head. That is A LOT MORE than i had expected based on a 3/8 inch difference in overall length between the two heads.

Keith, when you go to that Frenchie linear measurement system everything gets screwed up.

So much as I was able to dig out, the car has been scrapped and thats about everything I know.

A ZIS-110 for sale in the Ukrainian republicauto.ria.ua/auto_zis_1851603.html
Seems to have some rebuilds and kind of a "new" interior.
