Without a title the car could of been stolen, and if the rightful owner shows up and you can't show him a title you basically lose the car to him.
Ok here's a barnfind 38 eight (120). I never knew that the break light had the word "packard" on it. denver.craigslist.org/cto/5842900145.html

It's not a "break" light (brake?), it's a license plate light. It said "Packard" for both 1938 and 1939. Color changed from red to clear for 1939.

1936 120 touring coupe. I think he might be misinformed about the number of junior touring coupes made. This 1 has the rare artillerie style wheels, IIRC it's the last year they were an option.

That looks like a really nice 120! Desirable body style and not many known survivors though a better estimate of the # originally made is about 3881.

Artillery wheels really set off this car, especially in (incorrect) red. These wheels with the small hubcap were available in 35-36 part #304456.
In 1937 hubcaps were larger and the part# changed to #317530, that fit sixes '37-39, 120/Eight '37-40 and '40 super 8 160/180. There is another artillery wheel for the '37-'38 Big Super 8. We have samples of each but cannot find a company to manufacture them at a reasonable cost.

1938 six convertible coupe. It has a six but not a packard. Neither are the bumpers, rear lights or some gauges.
