John, I bet hunting for and buying all the individual parts will cost you more time and money than going down and strip the worse car and load those parts in the better car and U-haul it home. If you are that far down from Pennsylvania you might as well swing by the Texas Pacard meet as well (I think in 2 weeks), you might even sell some parts at the swap meet. You catch 3 birds (or cormorants :D ) with 1 stone

That is true. I don't believe the 4dr is a '51? I don't see the block lettering on the front of the hood. I'd like to have the grill surround from the 2dr the center from the 4dr. The windshield and the "fins" on the 2 dr. Maybe even mechanical bits.

Hi John

Here a '52 200 much closer to you that might be a good parts car:

newjersey.craigslist.org/cto/d/south-orange-1952-packard-200/6841724386.html

It had been on CL a few years ago for a higher price, then disappeared, showed up on eBay briefly for a ridiculous price, of course no one bought it. One supposes these guys are sick of having their money tied up in it. I recall the original CL seller noted the cylinder head was off. Note that it is also a stick shift, look for OD. Good luck.

Steve

The 1950 Eight with the 356 and PS might well be a former Neil Donovan car, he was a well-known amateur historian, an author, and a good mechanic who did a few such conversions.

PS - my faulty memory and I've been corrected, its the former Dan Malumphy car, not Neal Donovan. And it's been posted and discussed on this forum previously.

Yes, The fifty is mine and you folks have helped me with it. While I have been enjoying it a lot lately I am forced by life circumstances to part with it. It's in North central Ct. if any of you have an interest. Thanks

That's a lot of car for $7500! And great looking original paint. The 356 and overdrive sounds like a fine combination for highway cruising.
