I believe the desk might be a fake. The tag appears to be from a locker. Compare it to the tag from the chair. Tag on chair says property of PMC and is attached differently. Desk tag appears to have new screws.

Personally I disagree. The tag looks to be lacquered over and the lacquer also appears to be worn out.

If it's anything like the old property tags we had at GM's Fisher Body, they had codes for what facility they were from. The chair could have come from somewhere in the E. Grand Boulevard complex, and the desk could have come from somewhere in Utica, or the Downtown Detroit Sales & Service Branch, or the Grosse Pointe Branch, or the Toledo defense plant, or... Unless we find a Rosetta Stone or a 110 year old comptroller, we'll never know for sure.

Saw this one today on Facebook:

1941 110 Coupe. Was a 42K original survivor car before being heavily damaged in a house fire. I think it is probably a total loss. What do you think? Can this Packard be saved? Car located in Missouri.

Sad to see. 😢 Honestly I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. Though at least the engine MIGHT be good since the coolant has so much thermal mass it may not have overheated considering the entire car was not engulfed.

Chassis might be salvageable, maybe rear fender, back wheels, and deck lid. Body is rat rod material, except perhaps for floors. Shame.

The rubber hoses to and from the radiator would of burned right away and drained all the coolant right away, so I don't think the thermal mass of the coolant would of made much difference.

I mean, considering the low amount of flash rusting in the engine compartment and that the electrical wiring is halfway intact, I think it might be OK. But obviously needs a personal inspection before using any parts from it.

Few new ones I spotted today on FB Marketplace:

1948 Deluxe Eight Club Sedan. Rusty and rough, rear deck lid took a hard hit. But maybe good for parts or a rat rod project. Asking $2K. Indiana:

1949 (22nd Series) Sedan. Not sure of model, probably a Standard or Deluxe. Unrestored. Body looks relatively solid, but it will need everything. Asking $1,500. Alabama

That last 400 in your list has the rare and stunning "Orchid cloth" and patent leather interior in fine condition. If I wasn't hip deep in putting my own 56 back together I'd just buy the thing.
