I got the dashboard windlace retainers painted and installed. New rubber from Steele was needed and had to be adjusted as the slots on the back side were not long enough to line up with the tab that stick out on the backside.

It uses the same size oval screws and ferrules as the door moldings.

Next on the list is to pull the steering wheel so I can install the column to floor grommet.

Well not too much work on the 37 the last few weeks. But I did manage to get the cowl vent drain hoses replaced. One was missing, the other one petrified.

Good progress. I had one of those WW-II gas ration stickers on my 115C. It was an "A". Nice touch to a pre-war car.

I bought some cheap seat covers on ebay and tossed the over the torn up leather seats to give me something less rodents infested to sit on until we're able to get all the upholstery done.

Not my favorite color, but these were the only covers that I could find that would remotely fit the dimensions of the seat and has a split back. These prewar seat are much narrower than post was ones. A bit nicer than a Mexican blanket I suppose.

51 shades of brown now.

Looks pretty good. I found some similar bedford cord material (2 yds) for my car but a little darker that I want to make work like a fitted sheet for the bottom cushion so I can take off when showing. My seats are original (as is 99% of the car) and good except the drivers side has a few minor tears.

Was the bottom cushion separate or was this with the split uppers a package? If you can share where you bought this might be good to help as an alternative or to work a pattern out from being pretty close from what I can see.

The seat covers were a random one off old stock on ebay someone way selling. So not something available for repeat order.

The seat on the car came out of a business coupe I belive. The split seat allows you to use the rumble seat area as a second trunk that easy to get I to.

But regardless, I think most Packards have a separate bottom cushion and seat back. Especially on these models as you need to pull the bottom cushion up to get to the battery.

Yes, I couldn't tell if what you bought was a 3 piece that came together or 2 different orders but I guess a moot question given a one-off find. Right now, I simply have my cut material draped over the seat/bottom until I get a chance to make a plan on adding some elastic and sewing it into a slip cover.

Wish I could get my hands on the mechanic slip cover pattern I once saw advertised but I suppose if I took the time I could make one. Maybe the ex will let me get some of the old material that she will never use and I bought to experiment with. :)

BTW, car is looking good and nice to see the progress.

New glove installed. Much better tham the old rodent soiled one and no more holes.

Also installed the steering column grommet, which required me to pull the steering wheel off.

That also allowed me to clean off all the rust and clean the horn button contacts.

The steering wheel comes off much easier that the post war cars. No puller needed.

I was able to get the inner fenders installed today. I had to reform the two front brake lines as the lines needed to sit nearly flat on the frame and pretty close to the shock for the inner fender to clear.

I had already altered the left inner fender to clear the alternator. And I mounted a terminal block there as well similar to the postwar cars.

But I did need to also modify the right inner fender as well to clear the carb air intake. The outer fender had already been altered. So the inner followed suit and was a pretty easy change.
