Got the passenger side fender back on the car with the assistance of my oldest daughter. I put down a couple of clean rags on top of cowl and also on top of the core support. Just to keep the paint from getting scratched.
I threaded a plastic bolt into the top bolt hole on the cowl. That let me hook the top rear edge of the fender on that so I could jockey in into position. One note for future reference.... dont install the horns on the car until after the fenders are on, as they share a common attachment points. With the fender in place I installed the top bolts (Cowl and and radiator core). I will install the bottom ones tomorrow. I also replace the grommets where the heater blower motor mounts, and then replaced the rubber on the heater hose support and reinstalled that.

Some minor things done today. I got the blower motor rehung on the fender. I also went to Lowes and picked up some wire that should work great for headlight feeds.
I also fabbed up a new bracket for mounting the '55/56 electric antenna on the '54 fender. This mimics the '54 style bracket, but is much longer and beefier that the OEM bracket. I still need to add one more clamp and tighten everything down.

More progress tonight... Got the power antenna bolted down and secured. So will that I was able to get the driver-side fender hung. Hey it's starting to look like a car again! Still need to go drill out the bottom broken bolts and get the fender and hood aligned to one another. That will have to wait until the weekend.
I love it when more parts are going on the car then coming off!

So more progress this morning. Got the battery tray and fresh air metal ducts reinstalled. Note, install metal ducts before the battery tray. I learned that the duct on the drivers side cannot be installed when battery tray is already in place. DOH!
Also pre-painted a couple of items that would be obscured when the headlight buckets and radiator top panel is installed. So I painted those areas body color since they will be inaccessible during the final body painting. This afternoon was dedicated to getting the head light buckets reinstalled on the car. First challenge was getting the new wire through the rubber plug in the bucket. I needed to drill out the center of the plug to except the new wire, but quickly discovered that the plug was to old and brittle. So I thought I could find a replacement grommet that would work, but there was nothing the right OD and ID that would work. So off to Lowes to see what I could rig up.
I ended up buying two rubber stoppers whose large end was larger that the hole in the headlight bucket. They using a hacksaw I cut a grove in the stopped about 1/8 of an inch in from the end of the large end. Then I force the through the hole until in locked into that groove. Then I drilled out a hole in the middle of the stopper slightly smaller than the wire diameter itself. This allowed a super tight to keep out the moisture. The outer insulation was stripped inside the bucket. The buckets were then installed with new gaskets from Steele Rubber, and screwed in place. Then I had to remember how the hell the rest of the headlight went back together as I took them apart like 5 years ago and didn't take any pictures that day. But I got it figured out. Then I attached the headlamp socket to the wires and installed the bulbs and the retainer. Finally the headlight rings were installed.
