Being a colored photo i would guess it not to be a period photo and thus a redone top so theres no NAIL IN THE COFFIN.

I can contact the owner who had the car when the photo was taken, and have him get in contact with you. It was in his family for many years when it was in original condition, before it was restored. He showed me the original side curtains which were stored in their original bags.

Thanks 32model901 but all those photos dont show me the outside of the rear window or r replacement tops so r they right. It typ for a retop to have the window frame exposted. Assume the topper dosent know it should be FRENCHED or dosent know how. Cant tell u how many 32-34 ive seen done wrong.

Found a PRETTY MUCH UNMOLESTED 36 su8 Ph. that has had the top replaced on but it looks like the copied it stitch to stitch. The outside of the Rear Window Frame is exposed so going to assume (bad word) thats the way the Phs. came.

Did you check with Frank Buck in PA? His 36 Su8 phaeton is about as original as they come. He's in the CCCA directory.

I do have a picture of Bob Turnquist's 38 Conv Sedan from 1952. It's around here somewhere, but a similar picture appears in the CCCA 60 year anniversary issue. If somebody could look at that picture, I believe there is a frame around the window. I think Packard used the same style for everything.

Also, as I remember Clancy's (CCCA member #2 or #3) 37 Su8 also had the frame. It's the blue car in the youtube video that also shows Turnquist's car. Both cars got totalled later on.

As well, if you look in the parts book under Group 31.062 there is only one part number for the frame.
