A 1932 V-12 Convertible dual-cowl Phaeton. FTA:

Quote:
...once the state finishes repairing the historic vehicle, which was removed from the New York State Museum on Tuesday.

"It's a cream puff," Cuomo said. "Standard shift, 40,000 miles, good on gas. What more could you ask for?"

Thanks Craig - I hadn't heard that news. Certainly no secret that the car has been in the state government garage in Albany for all these many years though I'm sure it's a 1932, not a 1933; though I haven't I know of others who have received permission over years back to see and examine the car. Nice that it will be emerging from a long rest, I sure hope they don't entrust its revival to the New York State Motor Pool mechanics!

In this photo which I believe is dated 1958 we see Nelsen Rockefeller campaigning in New York City in a 1932 Packard with NY State 1931 license plate No. 1. Wasthe car repainted, or yet another '32 Packard in the NY State fleet? Another senior (note jewel in the headlight) Packard in the foreground, 7th Series?

Sounds like bull. FDR never recovered from polio so unless the car has hand controls for the pedals he never drove it.

No reason for conjecture, I'll ask someone who i believe has seen the car if it has hand controls.

UPDATE: The car is said to be a 1005 Touring, FDR never drove it. Some uncertainty as to whether FDR actually was the original purchaser, or The State of New York.

Another article, this one more accurate. It's a 1932 (905), not a 1933 (1005).
