Read in today's Santa Fe New Mexican an article about severe flooding in and around Sydney, Australia.

Mal, and others in the area, please let us know how you and your families are doing. Hopefully, you all are high and dry.

John,

All OK with us. Mainly in Sydney's west with the Nepean River flooding its surrounds. Other areas have suffered too. I'm about 100km south of Sydney and although there's been localised flooding in our area, not too bad in comparison, also major flooding in the north of the state. Third time this year this has occurred because of a "La Nina", as opposed to an "El Nino," weather pattern.

Thanks, Mal. Good to hear you all are well. We are having a nice Monsoon Season this year. A welcome relief to the hot, dry and strong winds we experienced in May and June. Just to make things worse, the US Forest Service decided to do a controlled burn. Result: The state's largest wildfire. It is still burning, but almost finished. Lots of smoke in the area. Otherwise, all is well.
