I have a 29' 645 roadster with a Dietrich body on it and i would really like to find out who originally purchased the car from Packard . Jack Passey told my father in a letter that the car belonged to a banker in nebraska but he couldnt remember his name. The car is in very good original condition with 44,000 mi on it

If you didn't get the info at time of possession, I doubt you'll be able to find that info without a huge effort and may still end up short.
Most states won't give it out even if they got it. You're talking over 90 years ago when registration documents weren't that good, if at all, and paper and a company that's been defunct for over 60 years. The co. records were spread over several entities due to the mergers/moves. There was a fire at some point I'm told. They often didn't even register cars back then, state dependent.
Personally, I don't know that it makes a difference, but this seems to be a common theme with some owners. "Post facto documentation".
You can try to contact, by mail, the NE DMV and see if records exist. I wouldn't hold my breathe with the speed of response of some of these state govt orgs.
Also there's "PAC", packardclub.org, where you can ask that group.
As they say curiosity led to the cat's demise.

G'day Tracy Kerr, to PackardInfo and I invite you to include your '29 Dietrich 645 Roadster in the Packard Vehicle Registry.

Good idea to enquire with PAC. the PAC Website has links to the various Packard Roster Keepers so that might be an avenue you could explore.

That was quick! for including your '29 645 Deluxe Eight Roadster in the Registry.

You'll note I've taken the "liberty" of adding one of your photos of the Packard to the entry. If you'd prefer the entry to not have that photo or you'd prefer another photo please advise me.
