Looking for the 3-position (on-off-on) Map Light and Gauge Light Switch used on 1937 115/120 dashes. This switch is mounted on the bottom edge of the dash.

The part looks like this:

Kind of surprised it is taking this long to find that switch. Wonder if a high failure item or just something overlooked and not gathered from parts cars.

Looking at the handle position it would appear to be a slide type switch. Is this correct?

Howard, I think it's a three-position toggle switch, not a slider. The part number is 327729, and according to that was 1937 120C-120CA-120CD-138CD-115C only.

So, a one-year-only switch. I'm not 100% the picture shown is accurate as the toggle appears offset, which doesn't match the holes in the dash. So I think the picture is incorrect, but it is a similar style.

I could be incorrect about the toggle vs a slider. I need someone with a '37 Junior car to confirm. I've never seen one in person.

I was going to ask the same thing but Howard beat me too it! It looks like a slider to me too. Otherwise the handle would be centered.

I'm still on the search for that map/reading light switch.

I found this similar switch. But doesn't look the same.

Chevy Switch

Which is a Delco 1404.

Not sure who made it or what markings are on the original switch.

Maybe find out in some Chevy literature or reviews if the switch functions as you want. If so perhaps you could 3D print a new rounded handle end and drill it out so it would slide over the existing to make it look more like the Packard switch. Being under the dash edge is the switch visible?

It has the same functions. Center off, one side is dash lights, other side is map/reading light.

It's more the color of the knob vs the shape. Perhaps some rattle can chrome or aluminum paint would help disguise it a bit.

This maybe a good backup option if the correct switch doesn't show up in the near future.

Not sure of the diameter but go through the ink pen drawer and look for a chrome cap that you can slide on the stem.... Just a thought .
