Odd picture. Note the numbers centre/bottom of windshields. Maybe i'm just highly critical but the showroom background appears rather cluttered as one would expect of a resale/antique shop. What is that display with manicans in the back corner supposed to be???? Looks like somekind of a barber shop or palm reading stand. Excessive potted plants in front of a huge hutch. I don;t know. Just not what i would expect of a PAckard dealer of 1936. Maybe an HD dealer 2005, but not Packard.

Here's another one, i'm guessing the same dealer:

Maybe i'm just having a bad week or something but this one looks worse than my much much smaller living room looks.

I only see a picture of a rod in your links. I agree, some of the dealerships then looked pretty sad. Ones that amuse me are the gas stations with a Packard sign and a car. Maybe the depression, maybe that is why the big postwar push to clean up or eliminate some of the worst.

EDIT The first one doesn't look that bad to me. Maybe the owners wife has a little clothing store on the side. No need to waste all that space and she can sell a dress if the cars aren't moving.

You did fix them. Actually, I think they're both pretty decent compared to some. The second one has a piano and lots of flowers around maybe a reception desk. Not sure what the wall thing is though. Almost looks like some kind of photo backdrop.

I've viewd many of the dealer show room pics posted over the years(Many thanks Reed) but those are the only two that just don't strike me rite for a Packard dealer decor. Most of them have very appealing show rooms.

The one I can open looks typical of a large dealership show room in the mid-1930s. Things were different then.

I think they are different shops. Basing this on the light fixtures. Also, the first one appears to have fire sprinklers hanging from the ceiling. Would this have been something one would see in the mid-30's?
