Could someone please measure the distance from the dash to the steering wheel please? I need to get a good idea of where my dash should be. I would REALLY appreciate it!!

Eric,

I'd measure Wade's but, as the body is currently 25 miles south of the chassis, the margin for error is a little more than you'd want!

I'd be glad to make the measurements for you, just tell me exactly from where to where you'd like it taken. My car is a closed car (open cars were different?) and has the standard steering column support, though there was atleast one optional one to change the dimension a couple of inches.

PS: Top center of steering wheel to closest point on the dashboard, 3.5 inches. Bottom center of wheel to closest point on the lower dash edge, 17-1/2 inches.

I guess I mean from the dashboard to the steering wheel, along the column. Thanks guys!

P.S., I have a feeling that mine's gonna be a little bit further away than the stock '34 is. The reason why I'm going off a '33-'34 is that's what dash panel I'm using, and I just need an idea for reference.

Along the steering column, from the lowest point of the steering wheel to the column stanchion at the dash is 11 inches. Again, a measurement from a closed 1934 Eight.

11" is great, I was hoping it was that far away at least, so mine doesn't look so strange sticking out so far. I would assume that the open cars would be similar. Thanks guys!!!

The next question is, does anyone know if a 120 steering coumn is longer than a 115c steering column? I would assume that it would be.
