Thanks Ross, I didn't realize I could service the bearing without taking it out. Definitely don't want anything ruining the new clutch.
As for the corn dogs, they're not that great. It's all for the nostalgia, and finally getting to go out and drive somewhere. And Hank is right, you can't really beat 50 cents.

I didn't realize I could service the bearing without taking it out. Since you didn't post a picture of your existing pilot bearing, I didn't realize that it was serviceable in place. I assumed it was like the picture that I posted, i.e., inner race broken and gone. No existing blind bearing puller is likely to work on that. In any case, there's always a solution. I'm glad to hear that yours is OK as is. Craig

Thanks Craig!
Sorry I didn't mention the condition my bearing was in. I have a big problem right now, the pressure plate is not fitting. All bolts but one are in place, the one hole is not lining up. It is a little bit off, it took a while to get the 5 I have in, in. Seemed as if it was too small, but now 5 bolts are in and the last hole is just barely out of reach. I really don't want to strip the threads. What do I do?!?!?! Do I drill out the plate hole so it is a little larger? Do I take it off and switch plates with the old one that I know fits? I'm at a loss guys, nothing on this car has ever been an easy job. -Garrett

Are the other bolts all tight or still loose so you can move the entire assy slightly. If all loose, then you may have to file or drill as little as possible. If you do that I would also take the same amount off in the hole opposite so as to minimize any balance problems. If any bolts are tight then loosen all and see if you can line it up to get it started.

I agree with Howard's approach.
But before filing or drilling, try backing out all the bolts about 1/4-3/8IN and then see if there's enough jiggle room to get the last bolt started to the same depth. If so, then tighten all the bolts in a criss-cross pattern about 1/4 turn at a time.

None of the bolts are tightened all the way down. I put them in with just a few turns. It was a fight to get the five that are in there lined up. I can't get it lined up no matter how hard I try. The thing I worry about if I were to drill, is that it wouldn't be centered properly and shake like mad.

Sounds like machine shop time where they can fasten the PP down to a turn table and open up all the holes slightly on the same center...or return it to the manufacturer.

So switching cover plates is not an option? Too risky to use the old one?
