I have the NAPA 7248 in my Packard with no starting problems. It fits in the tray, but the top is about 1/4" too wide for the hold down. 875 CCA.
They also sell an exact fit, NAPA 7205, with 620 CCA.

Not sure I understand the question. As far as I can tell it's the original motor. But I did get it out on the road for a test drive Saturday! Odometer reads 48,000...

I would clean the gas tank and blow out all the lines before I put gas in the tank and tried to start it. I have Gravety fed the carburator and started the cars before. Don't trust the old fuel pump. I have used this method to empty the gas tank but I don't think you have anything in yours after being in the dessert for so long. We have a 23rd club sedan so thay are great cars

Welcome and Seasons Greetings!
Like you, I am a fairly recent Packard owner and I lived for years in Arizona. I am a graduate of ASU and my wife graduated from NAU. I have a 1955 Clipper Custom Constellation that I bought last June near Richmond, VA. I live in Oakton, VA. I'll get back to you after the holidays. Craig

You can make a lot of really neat things from the parts left over after you rebuild your engine ...
