I doubt if that's a factory job. Emerald Green is Code C and Citrine is Code P, but I can't find a CP (or PC) two-tone listed on any of the supplier paint charts.

Yet, Studebaker actually offered a yellow-green two-tone scheme in that year, which some owners have called "Lymon" (a term coined by the marketers of the Sprite soft drink).

Of course, examples abound where Packard would do what a customer demanded (with enough persistence) to make the sale, but when they wouldn't, some dealers would. After all these years, it could simply be a repaint done to someone's personal tastes. The proof will be in the paint code on the serial number palte on the drivers door hinge pillar.

Regardless, when it's your name on the title, you can paint your car any color you want, but know that most people prefer colors as used by the factory for that year and model.

Perhaps the previous owner liked both Packards and the Packers! So he combined his loves!

Wow, looks like it will run like a deer!

Oddly enough, I had a 1964 international Emeryville truck tractor that was painted in those colors. I found it was owned by a trucking line called Denver / Chicago Express (D/C truck lines) and that every truck in their fleet were those colors. Makes me wonder if it were special ordered as a corporate car to match company colors.

Just a long shot, though probably not. A very interesting color combo none-the-less.

Welcome to the forum, and best of luck with your new find.

Jim

It is interesting. Can't say I've ever seen anything quite like it.
The radio does not look like a stock Clipper from the angle of photo, but does look nicely done with the bezel framing it. Maybe just the angle, but appears wider and IIRC only the numeral and PBs were framed with knobs to outside.

Congrats on a unique buy. I saw the car on our local cragslist and was mildly interested. The seller mentioned a left rear quarter panel problem but none of the four photos showed it. That omission kept me away to your benefit. Is it a 320" or 352"?

thnx, jack vines
