The other issue on the visor is that I sit pretty high when driving, so it may be a bit of a visual hazard for me.

Personally, I think the visor looks really nice on the wall! On the car, it looks a bit '40s to me, rather than mid-'50s. Wind noise and aerodynamics will be factors too, in addition to restricted visibility (particularly stoplights). I don't blame you for taking some time thinking about it, but my guess is that when it comes down to actually drilling holes, you'll decide to keep it for a garage ornament. Just a guess, though.

The last piece of window channel came in yesterday, so I was able to get in the front windows. So now with the car able to be hermetically sealed, it is time to retire the mexican blankets and leave the upholstery uncovered. No more dust or moth worries.
The carpet is in for the time being, but it will come back out as I still need to do all the padding and edge binding. In a way, this was just a test fit. Also what secures the "hump" piece of carpet from sliding down? Is it the firewall pad screws or something else? Still need to figure out my headliner options. I never realized the the headliner material extended all the way down to the rear package tray. Tonights activities will be dynomating the front door, and installing the door panels. Thanks to Kevin-AZ for the door panel clips! That saved my bacon. For future note, on a 4 door sedan (51-54) you need two 96" pieces of flexible window channel (Res Spec# 3C1-96). That's a full 48" per door to go up and over the roll-up glass. Also a single 15 yard roll of windlace will do then entire car, with about ~1.5 yards left over.

Kev - I just thought of a solution to your slipping carpet problem. Go to a carpet store and have one of their installers iron on a seam sealer on the back side. This should keep the carpet pieces in their place and be invisible. I did not have this problem with the carpet on my '55. I think your carpeting needs binding, but the '55s were thin enough to fit under the door threshold plates. The material I used does not require binding as it does not unravel at the edges and fits under the plates. Looking good.

Well the front carpet is not moving at all and is up on the the door sills. It's the separate piece that goes over the transmission hump near the firewall that no me looks like will end up moving around as nothing is securing it.

Kev - Here are two photos of my front carpet. The piece that goes over the front of the transmission hump is not a separate piece, and so far has stayed in place.

I quick chat with Ross resolved the issue. On the '54s the "hump carpet" is laid down first and the front carpet overlaps in. So that is what keeps everything from shifting.
