I gather, after a week, that there is only the pictures of the 'tam' and that no one has seen any Packard promotional materials or other items with the tam.
I will post the picture when I have it made and (more difficult) get my wife to wear it!!!! RLE

I'm not personally aware of any tam as a "factory" artifact.
However, the tam and cap are clearly part of some theme for 1956 (perhaps recalling the original Skipper the Clipper! slogan of 1941). IIRC, an artist's renderings of those two elements feature prominently in three sales brochures for the 56 Clipper line: - Clipper prestige color catalog; 12-3/4x11", ref. C-100 - Clipper color folder; 8-1/2x5-1/2" (opens to 22x34"), ref. C-101 - Packard/Clipper color folder; 11x8-1/2 (opens to 17x22"), ref. PC-110 Only the last of those three is available from this site's archives - though mis-labelled as a 1956 "The New Clipper" Brochure, when it (briefly) covers both the Packard and Clipper lines.
