wish it was closer and I wish I had a shop...i'd buy them and put them away till I could get to the Caribbean. 3500 for a Caribbean, with a parts car....that's crazy awesome cheap! its not even that bad a shape...has both carbs still, which means the intake is there as well. don't see the breather, but ad says all the parts are available, so maybe in the trunk.

so what happens to them if they don't sell before time to take down the barn? and why did your deal fall through?

You do understand that the subject Caribbean is a Hardtop, rather than convertible, and that the roof is rusted through, no? Also, the convertible brings 2.5-3 times what a Hardtop would.

That said, IF I didn't have to work for a living and had money, time, and space to spare, I'd love to hitch up a trailer, bring 'em both back here to Pennsyltucky, and at least restore the Carib (if not the Four Hundred as well, as I know where to pick up another hardtop roof).

While I believe that one should buy the best example of a collectible vehicle that they can afford (with some $$$ left in reserve for repair/restoration), I personally would prefer a project car over most restored examples.

I went and looked them over they are a deal but my budget is only to fix my 400 at this point but that said the barns have covered these it's all bird hay and dirt.. I've found some gems up here and there's alot of hidden packards up here from original owners at that and it's unbelievable to me. This man has owned them as long as he had..

Dano,

Did you or could you get the information of the data plates, and the numbers off the firewall?

Would be easier to transfer all the Caribbean HT trim, and parts to the 400, then trying to repair that Caribbean HT. They are the same body shell, so if you moved the VN tag, no one would be the wiser.

BK,
You are right, but;

You might want to move the whole drive train, assuming that engine and transmission are the original.

The interior would have to be swapped out, especially the seats.

If you get the build sheet on it, it would be nice to have things match.

If your really picky, switch the ignition and door locks for the key codes!

Then there is the phantom numbers on the firewall that sometimes bleed thru the paint.
