Hi all,

Well I'll be in the US for the Hershey Fall meet. Just wondering where all the Packards (and there esteemed owners) are to be found?

Also, any old car stuff I should not miss out on whist in PA?

Cheers

Lyndon,

That's great, you'll really enjoy the Hershey experience!

If you can, take in the Packard Truck Meet put on by Dave Lockard at York Springs, not far from Hershey, on the Sunday immediately after Hershey ends on Saturday.

I've been to Hershey probably 9 years out of every 10 since 1959 and this was the worst I can remember, due entirely to the weather. The Harrisburg area (20? miles West) recorded 4.5 inches of rain Thursday and Thursday night, and Friday it pretty much rained, not on and off but constantly, all day for what must have been another 2 inches. Only big-time vendors with professional tents were open, hundreds of vacant flea market spaces and others just hunkered down in their vehicles or not present at all. We were going to stay for the car show on Saturday (which is on grass) but decided it wouldn't be worth the effort and decided to drive back home. And to top it off, our parking area had turned to mud and we needed a push to get out.

Oh well, now we can look forward to next year,

Hi

Rain! Oh, What Rain! My heart goes out to you guys that came all the way for your first Hershey to experience this one. This was the first time a friend and I tried selling, did move a few items late Wednesday, the rest was truly a washout. We took refuge to the PAC tent in the heavy downpours, enjoyed nice conversations and welcome hot coffee and tea plus munchies.

The car corral was still full of interesting cars including the '40 Town Car by Rollson-Hollingworth, magnificent '37 Twelve convertible sedan, '34 Eight coupe, '53 Cavalier, '48 Custom, '47 Clipper Six two door, '54 Convertible, '37 115 convertible coupe and 120 convertible sedan, as well as many other non-EGB vehicles.

Finally, by late Friday evening the rain was tapering off and Saturday morning dawned dry with the sun breaking through. Shortly I'll post photos which will show you folks that I'm glad we stayed for the show.

Hi BDC

The '34 Eight coupe was at the Hyman site in very nice condition, dark blue with tan trim. Check their on-line listings for a good look.....you'll definitely want it!
