Hi, I don't know if this will help you. I got my fuel pump rebuilt by these people and they did an excellent job at a reasonable cost. They also rebuild carbs.

There are lots of carburetor rebuilders who advertise in Hemmings and other places that have a good reputation and I'm sure could do a capable job. But IMO based on personal experiences Daytona Parts is at the top of the list. Another option would be to buy a rebuilt from someone like Kanter Auto Parts on an exchange basis.

As a shade tree mechanic, I'd suggest checking the float level. The Daytona parts kit probably had a little gauge to help and their specs would give you the setting.
If that is no longer available, give them a call. They may be able to walk you through the process - really very simple. Bernardi

After getting a wrong invoice I called them and got a corrected version. I sent them rusty scrap, for decades buried in Russian dirt and Daytona delivered perfect carbs back. I had my carb rebuilt by Daytona. They were more expensive than others out there but I couldn't find any bad reviews on this websight about them so I chose them. I am completely satisfied with their work. "Do it once, do it right" was why I justified the additional expence. Once your carb is correct you don't have to do any more with it so it won't cost you any more money.

I had my carb rebuilt twice by 2 different supposedly very good rebuilders- still didn't run well. I finally bit the bullet and sent it off to Daytona and it came back perfect. Most "rebuilders" just replace the gaskets and do a little washing whereas Daytona cleans and checks every little passage. Yes you pay for it but it's well worth it

Dear Pat:
What symptom indicated a carburetor problem? Make sure you include that information wherever you send it. Another outfit I've heard good things about is the Carburetor Doctor. His prices are a bit more retail, maybe because he concentrates more on function than form.

WOW talk about good comments for Daytona....
Thinking I will go with them; too many good things said to go elsewhere. One note about the carb doctor: there are more people/firms calling themselves some variation on the carb doctor than there are carp in my lake. As to what made me decide to do this, I don't know what I can add to the comments in my original post here. Very low mileage, sooty tailpipes, easy flooding after a rebuild this summer that three return trips have not fixed. As the song says, You gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em.
