Mentioned this on another blog the other day, but will try a new thread. I need for my 1940 1808 a passenger side front bumper bracket. Looks like a Y. The one I have is in good shape, but at some point someone decided to weld on it. So would like to find one in great shape. It may be the same for other models or years, don't know. Hope all of you can answer.
Thanks

G'day Todd,

This from my deciphering of the parts book.

In Group 2.012 for Bumper Bar supports(front):

For 1801A-3-3A-4-5-6-7-8's there is part number 348931 Inner.

And for 1800-1-1801A-3-3A-4-5-6-7-8's there is part number 341754 Outer.

Many of the others listed in 2.012 also cite left or right side so for your car they are reversible!

Thank you for the research. Wonder if any other years will work? Would make my search much easier.

Todd,

In the Parts Book it's very specific as to what brackets fit what years and models. Accordingly, from what's shown there, only the ones I've detailed above are correct for your 1808. That's not to say that others might fit but, if they do, might have other ramifications.

Thanks again. As I stated to perspective 1940 buyers remember this is a one year model, and many parts were for this year only.

Thanks Oz, you have good karma. Just thought I would check ebay after seeing your post, and did a buy it now and got it. I can see I need to communicate with you more often when there are parts I need.

Todd,

Good to know that you found the parts. When rebuilding my '41 120 Club Coupe it happened on a number of occasions that a part I needed came up on eBay at that point of time! Don't know if they were reading my blog or if it was luck, karma or whatever.

I would like to add a little further information about the bumper brackets. I found in the 1940 Preliminary parts list the PN for the 1800-1801 inner is 341755, and the number for the rivets is 324197, 4 ea. 3/8 dia. but no length. Wish it was more help.

Good luck
Fred D
