I can't find any special trim on the photos--it all looks like a normal 53 convertible to me. Someone has installed a 54 front bumper but that is all of 4 bolts. It has been a very rough 8000 miles. Or 108000. Or 208000. It takes time to accumulate that much dirt around the suspension arms.

It's possible it was a display car at the New York Auto Show but there is nothing I can see to indicate it was a concept (or consept if you're a poor speller) car, looks like it was just a production convertible.
