42' Clipper Street Rod

Just can't stay away

Just thought I'd post some pictures of a project that I've been working on for a good friend. We started this in Jan./2013.

Looks good. If it ends up in black lacquer with a Packard V8 and a floor shift, it'd be pretty close to my dream hotrod. Please continue to post pics, I for one would love to watch it come together!

I'm not much of a hot rodder, but cutting the door posts out has changed an after thought body style into something visually balanced. The overall form is vastly improved.

The only downside is that the car might create too much interest in cutting up Packards.

But the upside is we are hoping it might generate new interest in Packards with customizers. (For example, Mercs have nothing unique left to be done to them.) And although some people won't like what we're doing, this car in particular was really rough so it was an ideal candidate for my vision. Fortunately the owner trusts my judgement.

Wheels are 16" True Spoke with 60 straight spokes and Packard centre caps.

The engine is at the machine shop right now. When we get it back and detailed i'll post some pictures. Its not a Packard.

I have attached some pictures of the 42 Clipper taken throughout the build. It is currently out of the shop having the upholstery done. Should be back and working on it after Easter.
