Again, thanks for all the help! After spending a long time under the dash (Off to the Chiropractor in a few minutes), nothing was found. Re-wired the ignition again. Checked everything twice, no current coming from the battery.
Test light shows battery charged, but there was a problem in the quick connect that someone else has installed. Stupid problem which was corrected. Now she's running! Plus,taped up a bare wire while under the dash. B.

If by quick disconnect you mean one of those battery post on/off disconnect switches, some of those are notorious for failure at inopportune times. Many if not most of them are designed for 12v and cannot carry the higher 6v amperage without failing.

NAPA sells a heavy duty knob-type battery disconnect terminal that works on 6- and 12-volt systems.

Quick disconnects have always baffled me. With no more effort than turning a green knob I can pull the battery cable off the post and have the same effect with out the unreliabiity and expense.
