Ex-Steve McQueen Packard 140 sold in September

I am trying to find the history of the ex-Steve McQueen Model 140 Convertible.

The car is now in Brisbane Australia (pic attached), and I have traced its ownership from the McQueen Collection in 1984 to a buyer in Belgium.

However, the current owner believes he is the forth, so I was hoping someone may know its history pre-Steve McQueen.

I should reassure everybody, the car is in excellent hands and is much loved.

G'day Hamilton23,
to PackardInfo, and interesting that this car is now in Oz! It was discussed in this thread some weeks back.

But, back to the Oz connection, if your friend is interested he may wish to join the Packard Automobile Club of Australia? If he is, here's a link to the PACA Website from where he can download a Membership Application Form

Think "140" is a typo, possibly for '40 or 120?

It might have been a Freudian slip which reveals the sales price?

My wife used to wear a Freudian slip - I believe it was pink.

Randy, I believe you were ... sitting in your Patrician, since both, your Four Hundred and your Caribbean have the Twin Traction (non slip) option, which improves handling.

Just thought you might be interested in the mate to your car. I have recently unearthed Steve's 1934 Packard Super Eight coupe/roadster. It had been pretty much out of sight since the '84 auction. You probably have the photo of the two cars, side by side; in the hanger at Santa Paula. I am trying to contact Chad McQueen thru a mutual friend, and I will inquire about your car if I can. I owned Steve's Ferrari Lusso for 25 years, but it wasn't much of a big deal back then. The '34 is still in great shape, and shows only 6K miles since its restoration in 1971. Steve owned it about five or six years prior to his death. Tom Sherwood
