Thought y'all might like to see a little of what we are working on here in beautiful downtown Parkton. This green machine is a 54 Clipper nearing completion. It is the usual 4 door version, the rear doors giving access to secure space under the bed. It is equipped with a hitch receiver, thus the split bumper. Still need the lettering on the tailgate and many other details. It was cheaper for me to make the Caribbean style hood than to have the bird plated.

Next up is a 51 starting from a club sedan. This will be a "coupe express" Packup, to borrow Studebaker's nomenclature in that it will have a coupe-style roof as implied in the first photo. The roof is not ready to go on till we finish the structural reinforcements and mount the bed panels. The tailgate will be made from a deck lid to maintain the contours of the car. This is of course a lot more work than the other style, but it will be much more stylish. It gets the usual wooden floor with stainless rub strips, also a Caribbean style hood, and numerous hand made trim pieces. The chassis and underbody are already finished.

Hi Ross

Interesting projects and nice work! At some point, please consider building a '54 Clipper all-steel four door station wagon. Perhaps using the forward portion of the sedan roof and A-pillars as roof extension, or the rear section of a '51-'54 Mopar wagon since those parts look as if they'd work nicely.

Any progress on the '56 Clipper Polo convertible?

Steve

Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.

Ross,

Looking good, that 51 reminds me of the bathtub one you were playing with.

After your done is test driving through a corn field part of your test track!

PTV, it's available now. It comes with sheets of 18ga metal, a MIG welder, a cutoff/grinder tool, and a large hammer. (Some assembly required) ;)
