Hi BDC
Not to worry, no complete pre-war Packard was sacrificed for that rat rod, that little bit of body and radiator shell section are just the remnants of cars long since rusted and weathered to extinction. Since the thief-proof number were still visible, that and the radiator shape must be enough to name it a Packard.....sad mess. A few more, if less 'cool', genuine Packards: An either '51 300 or Patrician by the three piece rear window, asking $1,600: ventura.craigslist.org/cto/5197067554.html 1953 Clippers: A two door Special, solid NV car: reno.craigslist.org/cto/5157703041.html A Deluxe four door, finish up and enjoy: mohave.craigslist.org/cto/5144279741.html A rough Mayfair, cheap: inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/5196952362.html Steve

1935 packard eight Victoria for auction in Germany. As usual it claims pebble win without any proof:

I didn't grab the calculator when I posted, but 4.6 L = 282 cu in. That's the size of a 1936 120 not a 35 120, and this is definitely not a 120!
320 cu in should be 5.2 L.

For the money wasted below I can buy three nice original Packards and still have money left over for heated storage.
If the Federal Reserve didn't ruin the nation's monetary system I'd have a hard time not doing just that. "No expense was spared on this build. Over $140,000 was invested and all receipts are available. It is hard to over-stress the quality of this build. It is NOT a "cobbled together" hot rod built in someone's back yard. All work was done by top professionals with an eye toward making the car appear completely stock. The ride height has not been altered. The steering wheel and column are stock Packard. Wheels are stock. All exterior and interior appointments and trim appear original (with the subtle addition of two air conditioning vents below the dash center.) One is hard-pressed to see that anything has been modified. In fact, recently this car was driven from California to the Classic Car Club Museum's national "Packard Experience" Show at Hickory Corners, Michigan, featuring the finest Packards from throughout the U.S. and Canada. This car was displayed on the show field next to completely stock Packards and no one in attendance (including Packard "purists") noted this car to be anything but an original 1941 Coupe from all outward and inward appearances" I guess the "experts" are blind and I don't think the usual CCCA rules applied to that exhibit. I didn't go even though it was only two hours from my doorstep.
