5587 Front Quarter Window question

All,

I'm attempting to attach new window channel run to the upper portion of the chromed wing-vent windows, and have run into issues again & or still! The channel-run is secured topside with what appears to be (3) 5/32 recessed rivets. Local parts houses do not seem to have anything that will work. I'm half tempted to tap out the holes and try and place a flat-headed screw through the hole to hold down the channel run, but then maybe the new window gaskets that I purchased from Steele won't fit.

Thoughts much appreciated on those recessed rivits or a 'work-around'.

Randy Berger who posts frequently here has just been through this on his 56 Caribbean. Why not consult his post on his project and you'll find the details as well as quite a few pictures of the process.

Randy....... extrodinary pictures & technical detail in the narratives.

Kevin, glad you could make use of the info. The offer of the screws still stands as I bought a box of 100.
