1936 eight club sedan, but it has a padded roof like a formal sedan

I have no idea about the authenticity of the roof treatment on the club sedan, clearly it's not a formal sedan which would have been a 912-XXX. But it strikes me as a very nice car; it may not easily find a home at that asking price but I think it's worth it if the mechanicals are good.
I can't resist commenting on a small incorrect detail under the hood - something you see incorrect so many times! The little ventilation scupper on the timing chain cover is mounted backwards. Some folks apparently think the idea was that the fan blast should enter there which incorrectly would pressurize the crankcase; the purpose of it is to help evacuate crankcase fumes for which it must mount with the opening facing rearwards.

Are you saying that because of the "14th" preface stamped before the VN? If so, that was standard practice for the 14th series senior cars - a curiosity for sure and to my knowledge the only year it was done, but correct. One would have thought they'd have left a space between the 'TH" and the first digits but note they are all consistently cramped together. Here's 5 more examples of it; note the 2nd one is an export RHD vehicle. Or were you referring to some other feature of the patent plate?
