First email from Jim:

".....I'll send you some of the pictures of building the Indy car with the Packard running gear. I am an amateur of fabrication but the dream and ambition sometimes speaks louder than the ability. I only had to call in a few friends for their talent during this build but I couldn't have gotten this far without them. I'll start sending the pictures, starting with the rolling chassis which started out as a 1952 Chevy long box frame and suspension. I had to take over 32 inches out of the frame length, but the width and basic suspension was the same that they used in the 30's Indy race cars. If you have any questions feel free to get a hold of me, the Indy build is far from being on the road at this point. So far the drive train, all the clutch and shift linkages, the floor shifter are all done....."

Then followed a series of emails with pic's attached.

Looks like a 3/4 or 1 ton Chevy/GMC truck chassis. Good to know a Packard St 8 will fit in my truck if I should want to use it.
Keep the pictures coming. John

Now this is really cool! A Packard Eight in a home built Hot Rod...You should get Hemmings interested in your project for a feature article. Due to the Packard power plant, this machine is going to garner a lot of ink I do believe. Ernie
