The glare of the auxilary lights for the refurbishment works had an influence but especially the crowdedness of cars made it impossible to compose glossy photographs. Well, I did my best.
The dome light, visible in pic #46 was new to me.

Good pics Guscha. The chrome strip is very visible above the rear window. Many Caribbeans lost that chrome strip when the top was replaced. It requires extra work to install it on the new top and the installers just didn't do it.

Thanks Randy. This post revolves around a small strip too. Do you remember?

A large part of the display area is dedicated to Studebaker. Beginning with prewar cars, robed in bodywork by D'Ieteren, the collection especially illustrates the postwar activities period, when Studebakers had been assembled in Belgium.

As to the below shown Big Six Wikipedia reports: "...At the 1924 New York Auto Show, Studebaker featured a 1918 Big Six that had a verified odometer reading of over 500,000 miles (800,000?km), as a testament to the longevity and durability of Studebaker vehicles..." 500,000 miles means 20 times around the globe.

Hi Guscha

The Studebaker Big Six Model EG was one of the competitors the new-for-1920 Packard Single Six 116 was up against. The Big Six really was that: 353.8 cu. in. 60 HP seven passenger touring on a 126" wb for $2,135. That versus the Single Six 116, 241.5 cu.in. 52 HP five passenger touring on a 116" wb for $3,640.

Studebaker wasn't the luxury/prestige marque that Packard was but had a reputation as a solid medium and upper-medium priced marque which must have given many prospects for the Single Six 116 cause to reconsider whether it was fully the good value for the money to be had elsewhere.

Steve

Steve (58L8134), the mentioned difference of ~ $1,500 is enormous. Thanks for the relevant information.

How true! I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry.

Hmmmm, the '38 Studebaker could "almost" be a Packard. Why? Because the same basic Studebaker bodies were used by TJ Richards in Australia on '38, '39 and '40(?) Six/110 & Eight/120 Packard chassis!
Sorry Gerd, know I've gone but I can't help myself.
