I didn't realize that the Packard Clipper actually had a ship's wheel on the front grille work. Very nice touch, I thought.

there is one on the dash and the trunk as well.

The 50s were definitely the time of excess. Packard didn't slouch on senior model embellishments either. 55 seniors had a plethora of "V" emblems -- although IMO, Packards were more tastefully done and did not quite go to the extreme AMC did with the V on the 56 Hudson.

Well, that's one salvageable part on aforementioned car :)
