In addition to fabricating the body I have been working on other aspects of the project. The brakes, the ignition system, the carburetor and the wiring are all parts of this build that I am working on. Part of the wiring are the lights. One of the missing parts are the tail lights. I Have not been able to find any. So the next best thing to do is make my own. Check out the video link below to see a CAD model of my tail lights. We will build two of them when ever can sneak them in on the mill.

RodBuilder, check out repro Ford Model A tail lights. They might be the answer to your problem and have that vintage look.

You didn't mention where you looked unsuccessfully for 6th/7th series tail lights but I'm pretty sure I've seen several of them at Kanter's.

That's awesome! Was your grandfather talking to you while he was filming? I've never really looked at a 29 boat tail speedster... that is kool. I didn't realize how different the body was.
Thanks for posting.

No, he was not talking to me. I was maybe 10 at the time and he was retired and out living life.

but, in a the sense that he made the tape for himself and I'm the only one following in the Packard line...I suppose he was talking to me in the future. deep stuff.

I emailed the guy with the 29 boattail on jay leno. He says that this must have been the original body car as it was not his.

sorry for the crappy audio. VHS tapes...what can you do.
