Found this great pic on the Life magazine Google search.
It is the Secretary of Defense's car dated 1940. This car certainly isn't Olive Drab Green!

"General Douglas MacArthur was inspecting the U.S. Army's 1st Cavalry Division shortly before the division was sent to New Guinea in January, 1944. The two stars on the front of the Packard vehicle indicate that it was assigned to a Major General and the four star flag on the front bonnet show that MacArthur was a passenger."

Just popping in
|
Here is a photo of the body tag from the driver's side cowl and a picture of the original color from behind the Headlight Trim ring. 127" wheelbase. I am getting ready to tear it all apart and start the restoration. I will be going back to the Olive drab green. Hopefully while removing the top layer of blue paint I will be able to uncover any other identifying military markings on the car, so I can put them back on.
