Back to your question about the radiator, make sure you have a long stem radiator cap. If the radiator cap is too short, the cap will not seal tightly and fluid will flow out the overflow. A Stant R-6 is the right size for your 52.

When taking the wheels off are the bots and nuts all one piece ? What does the R stand for on them? I am taking off the right front wheel.

There are no lug-nuts, only lug-bolts which screw into the drum. They are standard threading, "Righty-Tighty, Lefty-Loosey"

Aren't the driver's side wheel bolts left hand threaded?

All the lug bolts come off "lefty loosey" no matter which side of the car you are doing.

For some reason I was thinking Packard used LH threaded bolts on the driver's side wheels. I know my 1956 Pontiac has LH studs on the driver's side.

Pontiac is made by GM - no relation to Packard.
