Yes. That's it. I don't think it's Brewster, though.

Yes, I purchased that car (in Pittsburgh, where I live) for a very, very reasonable sum and in fact have already made-back more than 50% of my purchase price by selling the Holbrook alloy "convertible coupe" body and the miscellaneous Lincoln and RR fenders and grill.

I am left with what appears to be a '26 chassis, '29 running gear, diff and wheels and of course, the engine in question.

I've been considering a rebody (full custom), but may also sell, hence the desire to confirm the provenance of the actual engine.

I am aware of the discrepancy in the PDF as posted on this website.

So, let's get down to the business of determining the engine numbering sequence for 6th series Speedsters.

Thank you so much for any help. -Wes

Engine would b a great start for a '29 Speedster. Did the Speedsters get the 126 WB ?

Sixth Series Speedsters were only 2 body styles, roadster and phaeton, both on the 126" wheelbase.

As regards to the motor in question, though the motor number is in the apparent range for a 626 Speedster, IMO important questions remain to be addressed before that can be confirmed.

1.Asking a second time, on the motor in question, are the spark plugs 7/8" or 18mm?

2. Has the cam lift been measured and compared to the lift of a 640/645 cam?

3. What is the part number on the camshaft?

4. Why is there no vacuum booster pump which was a standard feature of the Speedster?

5. Is the motor number stamped in a size and style matching motor numbers on the known 626 motors?

Here's yet another listing of motor numbers for the 626 Speedsters, and different from the previous two we've seen. And in this case the publisher was Packard Motor Car Company in one of their 1934 Service Letters.

That information doesn't look good, based on the incorrect nomenclature, and the doubling up of 13 numbers between the "634" and the 640/645.
