can I get some feed back regarding this choke assembly, I can't seem to find a drawing or info on this.
any help would be appreciated.

What kind of feedback are you looking for?

Performance-wise it is just superb. Instructions for adjustment in the Service Letters which are available on this site. Also covered in Chiltons and other trade manuals. Also many years ago a club newsletter gave good adjustment data, I can scan and post if that's what you're looking for.

I very carefully cleaned and adjusted mine decades ago, it continues to function perfectly.

If you didn't know, it's a Stromberg Model C. Also used on the Packard Twelve thru 1939 I believe. Also used by Pierce Arrow 8 and 12 and some Studebakers, Oldsmobiles, and probably others.

mine came to me in pieces and im trying to assemble the parts correctly and im missing the linkage.
so any data, pictures etc would be greatly appreciated.
I did a site search but got zero info from that, maybe im not looking in the correct place.

I loaned the main linkage rod to Classic and Exotic some years back for them to reproduce which they did, should still be available. The unit itself is quite complex internally, I'll see what I have for illustrations tomorrow. You'll also need a rather unique copper sandwich gasket/vacuum filter for mounting to the intake manifold. And your EE-22 will need the little steel counterweight that interacts with the choke rod.

Interesting this subject comes up at this time. I have one on the bench im doing the settings on. Did a carb rebuild a few months back and figured it was time to ck out the Choke unit.

OFF SUBJECT
Interesting Factory photo of the engine.
1. Exhaust Manifold has mfg scars. Looks like it was laid down on something prior to the porcelain cooling down.
2. Steelgray SP Wires
3. Base of carb looks to have wrinkle paint. Remainder semi gloss or flat.

We have Packard's purchase specification dated in 1933 calling for lacquered GRAY spark plug wire, so I've always assumed it was correct for 1934 and perhaps 1933. What I don't have is a superceeding document telling us when they went back to black wire; I always assumed for 1935 model year production.

When I looked at the carb paint I thought the base looked that way because it was painted over cast iron, the upper looked glossier because of the smoother surface of the die-cast metal.

I wonder if Packard would have sold that car with such an obvious cosmetic flaw as that manifold. Shame on them if they did.

Any further thoughts on these items?

SPARK PLUG WIRES
Believe the "purchase specification" ur referring to is PACKARD ENGINEERING SPEC. and if I remember they refer to it as STEELGRAY. Don't know if there are, or if I have, later updates - ill give it a look later. From the engines I found this STEELGARY on and reviewing Factory Photos, looking for light colored wires, I believe the STEELGRAY first started to b used Mid '33 and up to '39. BUT have found phots that suggest black. SO was black wires also used? Maybe PACKARDs supplier ran short of the silver stuff and subed the black - one of those things we will never know. I'll never deduct a point for a car having black wires but would prefer the silver looking stuff on '33-'39.
Believe the vendor was Auto-Lite. If u compare a PACKARD STEELGRAY to an Auto-Lite STEELDUCTOR there a match.

MANIFOLD PORCELAIN
We all like to think about Classic PACKARDs as being 100 pointers but over the years of looking at virgin cars believe the philosophy was to do your best but get them out the door. Thus the manifold was not 100 point but good enough. Seen many other things that were GOOD ENOUGH.
-'34 EIGHT Instrument Plate in a SUPER with a SUPER Radio Delete Plate
-'33 striping that looked like the striper fell asleep.
-'34 pieces of upholstery material sewn together to make a large needed piece.

I wonder how the depression affected Packard and if any of their suppliers went under. I could see something like that causing a change to the specs or maybe they were forced to make do by using something with a substandard finish for a promised delivery. If they suddenly lost one of their contributors in the supply chain I would imagine they might have had to scramble to find another and then give them time to get into production yet still keep cars moving out.
