Have you contacted the publisher (VMCCA) to see if they have an archival copy? Both VMCCA and the publication Bulb Horn are still active in the hobby, have you checked their website? There is also a Bulb Horn back issue search capability at the AACA library and they claim to have all back issues. There is a research fee at AACA library but if you're an AACA member I believe the first 1.5 hours are free.

One '39 Rollson was located at the Owl's Head Transportation Museum in Maine.

Thanks to the kindness of the guys over at Bulb Horn Magazine, I have received a copy of the Vol 4, 1959, pp49-51, article about Dan Topping. Unfortunately, it was not about the missing 1939 Packard Rollson. Will keeping looking! Van

-> This way please, to pic up the scent including several photographs. Well, it's a Derham, that looks like a Rollson.
"...Correspondence between the coachbuilder and Packard NY, the fabrics supplier and Miss Pons' agents illuminate the build process...." The car is mentioned in Hugo Pfau, "The Coachbuilt Packard" (1938), page 74 (according to the German Wikipedia; see reference 23) and in a Business Week magazine dtd. April 22, 1950 (according to coachbuilt.com).

Flackmaster: Thank you for reply, I did rule out a 1939 Packard Rollson 1701 in New York some time ago, however my current message is a different car - a lead was given to me about a man from upstate New York who may own the car in question.

I recently purchased the Rollson car Flackmaster had talked to you about. I'm in the process of trying to get more info on it. Thought you might be interested in the specs.
vin 1701-2039 body # 658 model # 1665 engine # b304330 delivery date 11/30/1938 via PMCC in NYC original owners initials CBM What I found interesting is that it's also a model 1665 not a panel brougham which seems to be a rarer model.
