Hi BDC
No knowledge on its recent sale, but that is the '37 Twelve Ed Blend was driving on the Pennsylvania Turnpike years ago, stopped for a bit of shut eye, during the night had to prevent a murderous attacker from gaining access. One supposes even then a full-custom Packard would draw attention, occasionally the wrong type. A '47 Custom Super Clipper lwb, 7-passenger sedan limousine, missing the front bumper guards, ready to proudly enjoy: swmi.craigslist.org/atq/d/royal-oak-1947 ... ard-super-clipper-8/6954453131.html A '46 Clipper Six, project start, no photos: columbus.craigslist.org/pts/d/morgantown-1946-packard-four-door/6958350678.html A '52 Patrician, rebuilt parts included, cheap entry-level project or parts car: indianapolis.craigslist.org/cto/d/indian ... 952-packard-packard/6951202192.html Steve Added 8-21-2019 A '46-'47 Clipper Six, looking for trades: cedarrapids.craigslist.org/cto/d/center- ... 940-packard-clipper/6951949326.html A '39 120, 71K miles, ready to enjoy: madison.craigslist.org/cto/d/madison-1939-packard-original-car/6946999635.html A '49 Super Eight, 23rd Series, long hood and wheelbase, looks solid, good project starter: denver.craigslist.org/cto/d/colorado-spr ... 949-packard-super-8/6961396470.html Added 8-24-2019 That '40 Super Eight 180 club sedan with the hideous red interior: spokane.craigslist.org/cto/d/post-falls- ... ard-super-8-touring/6949409190.html A '49 Eight 23rd Series, OD, pretty Coronet Blue, ready to enjoy: bozeman.craigslist.org/cto/d/butte-1949- ... cyl-overdrive-fully/6960626009.html Added 8-25-2019 A '40 Super Eight 160, 1805 8-passenger sedan Body Style 1371, worthwhile if major project: boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/d/wayne-1940-packard-limousine/6957569919.html

Steve, just wanted to pass along a note of thanks for your constant maintenance to this listing. I read it faithfully and can assure you, if I was ever looking for another Packard, I would use this as a #1 reference. It obviously takes time and attention to winnow through all the listings and post the 'real and relavent' ones - Appreciate your efforts and knowledge! Chris.

On the two 1954 Convertibles, both look nice but each seem to have anomalies, though minor.
The first, of course, has a cast iron head when I believe it's a 359 that should have an aluminum head. Not uncommon but for a restoration one would have expected the proper head which the text does say it has but the photos show a cast iron head. However, the second I can't figure out how what I see is possible as the oil breather on the filler is wrong and what I can't figure out is how it is sitting at such a peculiar angle. The pipe is straight, attached to an angled hole on the side of the crankcase cover so it should be angled away from the engine! I saw this photo before and wondered the same thing so any ideas? It stands out like a sore thumb.

Cars with power steering got a filler tube with a bend in the middle so that the airstream into the breather was unobstructed.
