Very insightful. I'm sure you have already checked, but if not, the center steering link bearings probably need to be replaced too. If you look at my project blog - link in the signature - all the details are there, to include the modern bearings.
Good to see another Packard 120 in the pac-NW! I'm from N. Idaho, but currently live in VA due to being in the military. I'll be back in the NW in a few years though. Good luck with the car, and enjoy!

I just tried to download it and yes, I am getting .php file. I just get lines of gobbledy gook when I try to open it.

It’s not unusual for sites to use a PHP file for downloading PDFs or other formats and my own sites even use it for images but it is unusual to see the content rather that the file so something clearly has gone wrong!
