I think that I've only rebuilt two and didn't have an problems. Pretty straight forward, I think the pivot pin is taper and only comes out and goes back one way. And the other thing to watch out for is installation. Making sure the arm is in the correct position and add a little lube.

Good Morning...If you don't wish to do the work yourself, you should be able to order a rebuilt from Kanter 800-526-1096 or Max Merritt...800-472-2573. They will charge you a core fee and refund it after you send them back your old pump...Ernie in Arizona

Sorry, I forgot about the vacuum pump on the fuel pumps, never did one of those, so I would not know about them. I've only worked on the basic fuel pump only. Those are very easy to work on not too much to them.
Best of luck!

Easy job assuming the housing/internal parts are good.
Just get the right rebuild kit.
I did the '49 myself in short order. Works fine. They usually send a procedure with the kit but believe in the manual which should be on here if you don't have one.

Yes I seem to have a vacuum diaphragm leak as oil must be getting pulled into the vacuum tube and shot into the intake as at times I’m getting a cloud of oil smoke when accelerating that goes away soon after, usually after it is idling a while. But not seeing/smelling any gas in the oil.
