Clear and concise explanation; thanks, Dave. Obviously, these are nothing to do with junior cars and I will abide my retro-fitted spin-on filter setup, as it does the job and is easy to change. While I like Crin's idea to 'hide' the modern filter under the cutaway canister, it would not be applicable to those cars where the installation is vertical, as you have shown. Great idea for the horizontal mounts though. Chris.

I'm sorry I wish I could make them cheaper but machining a solid block of billet aluminum to some tolerances is pricy. I could probably find someone to do it cheaper overseas but I refuse to do that. Everything I sell through the white glove collection is made here.
But hey there's always Christmas...

Yes Crin, 'nice things cost money'; there's just no two ways around it. And I have to say, I respect the hell out of you not going offshore and providing domestic-source manufacturing. Hat's off! Chris.

Hi all,
Here it is installed on my car. I think it's tucked away quite nicely (if I do say so myself...). Looking down from the top you can't tell that it's not a full round cylinder. Now I wish I would have painted it a gloss black ... next time. The filter does not protrude further than the point where the top of the oil pan meets the bottom of the crankcase so I would say it's fairly well protected from road debris. That is slick. Very well done.
I looked again at the set up on my dad's '38 Super and the Purolator is in a totally different spot. So unfortunately your design wouldn't work here. We currently have a R&A Designs setup for it, which will be a mess to change, but it's better than the original Purolator. -Kevin
