There should be a couple of perpendicular wood strips on the bottom. Then, four bolts from inside the trunk line up with the nuts found in the luggage rack itself. I'm not sure this trunk will fit your car, though, as it is a Senior trunk. Unless, of course, you've got a Senior trunk rack on your car.

The trunk on my 115C was secured to the rack with leather straps.

Do you mean the brackets that allow the trunk to fold down out of the way of the built-in trunk? I just sold a couple of pairs of those to a guy who buys and sells parts. He may still have them.

Is there a resource that helps give an idea of what years particular trunks were used? I personally don't have a trunk rack but do have a trunk that I believe is late 20's/early 30's (?) simply based on the fact that is is a narrower style that I've seen on pics here and there. I am currently using mine to hold historical Packard items related to my car but would be good to know the year in case another Packard owner had a need to match it with their car.

The accessory catalogs often had illustrations of the various trunks. Often at least in the senior car lines there were several styles available in any given year and often a particular style would be carried for several years.
By way of example, see the attached from the 11th Series Accessory Catalog.
