Hey Guscha,
Found this link about a Russian Junkyard with alot of Volgas, Moskviches, & Tschiaka's in it. I was compelled to click on it after seeing the pictures with the pretty women.  englishrussia.com/?p=311 How come I never see these kind of girls in American Junk Yards? Attach file: (42.54 KB)

I am in hurry today not sure of the spelling. The man in question is Charles De Gaulle former French general and Prime Minister.
The car in the second picture is DS19. John F. Shireman

Guscha: I even go one better on your question in the answer I am about to give. First of all Charles De Gaulle was nothing more than a big pain in the ass. Standing next to De Gaulle is a young Mikhail Gorbachev, the third person is Alexei Kosygin.

Guscha: Since you posted a picture of a DS 19. here are two pictures of my favorite Citroen from the 70's even though it came equipped with a Maserati engine.

There was a European car with a similar front styling. Believe the Opel was imported for a brief time in late 50's early 60's with a few minor changes for US market. Think later version also resembled the GAZ & Mercury with the wide grill layout & headlight treatment.

That's the style of the one I was thinking of--don't remember what model it was other than just Opel. A green station wagon driven by a girl I went to high school with--and not a bad little car at all. Much better than another import that was sold around the same time--the Renault Dauphine. Another kids grandparents had one of those and more than once it was being pushed or towed.
