Hello,

I’m looking to see what’s out there for Packard 3 piece bird. I believe these were made in 1942 and 1952. I’m looking for wings up and wings back. Preferably ones that aren’t destroyed but do need to be re chromed. I want to be able to clean them up and make them look new.

Thank you in advance.

G'day Pfersching,
to PackardInfo.

I see in your profile you list your interests as "Packard Swans". But if that interest extends to the fitting below the "Packard Swan", ie a Packard itself, I invite you to include any Packard/s of yours in PackardInfo's Packard Vehicle Registry.

They were used farther back than that but were not swans. Originally it was a pelican from the Packard heraldry (coat of arms - look at one, you'll see the bird) but then became known as cormorants.

To be clear, the earlier ones were totally different than those used later and for your 1952, it was a one-year-only style. The bird body and base were the same as 1951 but for 1952 the wings swept back rather than going up. Be aware that 95% of those listed on eBay as being Packard are not, even if they look close. If you find one there but are unsure, please feel free to PM me with a link and I'll check it for you.

Sometimes described or given a more generic, or tongue in cheek, term of "the duck?

I appreciate you guys. I actually just bought one wings back. But I’m looking to buy more of them. They are super unique and cool.
