No o rings are present between the pickup tube strainer.

OK perfect. What about between the tube nut and where it connects to the oil pump?

If it's not called out in the parts book then no.
It's worth noting, I'm not sure if they even had O rings back then that would withstand 300 degree oil.

That's what I figured (about the lack of mention in the book). It seemed like the "nut" for the tube was some sort of flared fitting that would do the sealing. There's a gasket listed for the senior cars - maybe that's what they're referencing?

I can confirm no o-rings and I just removed and reinstalled one on my 1951 Henney-Packard’s 327 and have done many others before too. In this case screen was filled with petrified oil so needed to be uncrimped, disassembled, cleaned, then put back together. With any o-rings at the pivot it would not swing freely enough to do its job.

Alright, sounds good then. I was mainly concerned about the upper connection (pictured), but all makes sense. My strainer was pretty gummed up, too. Kicking myself for not taking it all apart when I last had it apart two years ago. Just didn't know any better at that point. Thanks, all!
