In a previous thread I was inquiring about putting the Executive/Clipper body on a rotisserie. Thanks to all those that responded. I am now ready to roll the frame out and clean it up & paint it. I had some scaffold screw jacks sitting around since I build my pole shed during Covid & decided to put them back to work. The back end is held up by 1/2 the rotisserie frame, the front by the frame I built. Need just over 29" of clearance for it to roll out.

Thought I was done with rust repair, but not the case. forward trunk body mounts(both sides)needed some attention

then the inner fender well needs a small repair

This should conclude the major rust repair, continuing treatment of the surface rust then will strip the body & get it into primer. Thinking I may paint the underside myself with some Zero-rust. The trunk lid was previously cleaned up & primed, need to dig the hood out of storage yet for prep & priming.

Put in a large order to Steele Rubber, & its been stuck in Canadian customs for 2 weeks. apparently they think I am an importer & am going to resell all the weather stripping................NOT! Still, supposedly have to get a business number & fill out some very confusing forms to get the shipment released. Very frustrating.

Got the underside of the body painted
Question for the forum: would you reapply an undercoating or say the spray on box liner? Or leave it as it left the factory?

Sure looks nice!!

Just my but I think the undercoat material might be formulated and applied a bit thicker than bedliner so would probably give a bit more of a sound deadening effect. I know the stuff that was on my 56 was certainly thick and well adhered. That brings the question on how each is applied and would either require special application tools that might be expensive for one time use and could be a determining factor. If your area salts the roads I would definitely add something but unless you are also going to add a rubberized sound mat to the floor on the inside then whichever is the thicker coating would probably be better to lessen any drumming from the sheetmetal.

I would use undercoating but best to apply it after the body has been reattached to the chassis as I believe the factory did.

The spray applicators look much like a paint gun except that the nozzle is a round tube. I have one but have never used it although as I recall it was quite inexpensive.

10-32 screw. It is a 3/8" long Phillips screw. McMaster-Carr 91099A355 undercut head

Randy Berger used these for a vent window repair. As he is no longer with us, was wondering if anyone else might have used these is a similar repair & would a few extras?
Buying a box of 100 & shipping to Canada would be very pricey

If you look at Randy’s Caribbean project on/ around pages25-26
He shows a nice fix for new seals in the vent windows

By the way, I happen to be in Canada now and this comes to 25 CAD (18 USD) including shipping. A bit expensive for a few screws I guess but idk.

Your local hardware store could probably special order some.
